With a mission to overcome social isolation through the power of virtual reality and shared experiences, Rendever’s virtual reality platform is designed to deliver engaging group programming focusing on building a thriving community, specifically for older adults living in long-term care settings and healthcare organizations. The standard system includes a group of networked VR headsets and a tablet.
The Scheinberg Relief Fund has provided funds to cover the implementation and subscription costs of three Rendever systems (22 headsets and 3 tablets) in three separate locations on the Baycrest campus for four years. In addition, the team at Baycrest will conduct a research study with the objective to understand how/when/where Rendever can have the most significant impact in palliative care, assisted living, and independent living units.
