Dixon Hall

WHAT THEY DO

Dixon Hall has been providing neighbourhood services in downtown East Toronto since 1929. It started as a soup kitchen and has continued to feed, support and care for Toronto’s most vulnerable ever since. Dixon Hall runs over 60 programmes and services, serving more than 10,000 people annually in one of the most deprived areas of the city.

IMPACT

The Scheinberg Relief Fund is supporting Dixon Hall as it adapts to meet the multiple challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funds have been directed to ensure an additional 350 people are reached through their Community Meals Programme and an additional 120 seniors through their Meals on Wheels programme. In addition, support have been provided to help cover the cost of PPE needed to keep staff and the community safe and to support the critical work they are doing to care for the elderly and tackle the issues of isolation and loneliness.
